About Me

My name is Friedrich Riedhammer (DJ2RF).
I have been working with technology, electronics, radio communication, software, and signal analysis for many years – both professionally and out of personal passion. My main areas of focus include practical RF engineering, Software Defined Radio (SDR), IoT systems, and the analysis of real-world signals.
As a licensed amateur radio operator, I am particularly fascinated by the connection between theory and practice:
not just describing technology, but making it measurable, reproducible, and truly understandable. This approach strongly influences all of my books and projects.
Books & Projects
I write technical and practical books covering topics such as:
- Software Defined Radio (SDR) and modern radio technology
- ADALM-Pluto, signal processing, and RF measurement techniques
- Internet of Things (IoT) with ESP32 and other hardware platforms
- Drone and RF signal analysis (e.g. drone scan applications)
- Python, GNU Radio, and experimental workflows
The emphasis is always on real applications, clear explanations, and solid technical implementation – suitable for beginners as well as advanced users.
Philosophy
Many technical resources are either overly simplified or unnecessarily complex.
My goal is to take an honest middle path:
- technically correct
- practice-oriented
- clearly structured
- free of marketing language
- without academic overcomplication
Technology should be accessible, without losing its technical depth.
Nerd Verlag
Nerd Verlag was founded with exactly this idea in mind:
a platform for technical books, projects, and documentation aimed at people who genuinely want to understand technology – whether as a hobbyist, student, or professional.
All content is based on hands-on experience, real measurements, and real experiments.
Contact & Exchange
I value the exchange with other technology and radio enthusiasts – whether about books, projects, or shared ideas.
If you are interested in my work or would like to discuss a technical topic, feel free to get in touch.
